Size: Fits most adults
Materials: 1 ball Wool Ease yarn, color desired; size 10 circular knitting needles, at least 36" long.
Gauge: 4 sts/inch in stockinette stitch
Note: Hat was knitted with the Magic Loop method. However, dividing the sts onto a set of double pointed needles will work just as well.
Directions: With two strands of yarn (use one strand from the middle of the skein and one from the outside), Cast on 64 sts loosely. Divide in the middle, and slide each side to each end of circular needle. Forming into a circle, work in k1, p1 ribbing around for 1 3/4 inches.
Change to stockinette stitch (knitting all rounds), and work until hat measures 7 1/2 inches.
Decreasing for crown: Round 1: (k2, k2tog) around.
Round 2: knit all sts
Repeat rounds 1 and 2 twice more.
Round 7: (k1, k2tog) around.
Round 8: knit all sts.
Round 9. K2 tog around.
Cut yarn with a 12 inch tail. Thread on a tapestry needle, and pass through remaining sts and pull tight.
Weave in ends.
