The construction of this scarf lends a whimsical appeal. Although worked in straight rows, the simple lace pattern tilts in opposing directions, thus giving it an 'off-kilter' look.

Materials: 8 oz. worsted weight yarn (model knit with Red Heart Super Saver), size 8 (U.S.) knitting needles.
Gauge: 4 sts/inch
Finished Measurements: Approx. 8 x 72 inches.
Directions:
Loosely Cast on 33 sts.
Knit 3 rows.
Row 1: *(k2 tog, yo) 4 times, k8; rep from * once more; k1.
Row 2: k9, p7, k9, p7, k1.
Rows 3-8: Repeat rows 1 and 2 three more times.
Row 9: k1, *k8, (yo, ssk) 4 times; rep from * once more.
Row 10: k1, p7, k9, p7, k9.
Rows 11-16: Repeat rows 9 and 10 three more times.
Rows 1-16 form pattern. Repeat rows 1-16 until scarf measures approximately 72 inches or desired length.
