Materials:

worsted wieght yarn, 20-inch separating zipper (same color as yarn), size 4 knitting needles, cable needle.

Gauge: 8 rows/inch on size 4 needles.

Openwork Bobble Pattern

Row 1 (right side)- p1, *yo, ssk, p5, k2-tog, yo, p1; rep from *.
Row 2- k1, *k1, p1, k5, p1, k2; rep from *.
Row 3- p1, *p1, yo, ssk, p3, k2-tog, yo, p2; rep from *.
Row 4- k1, *k2, p1, k3, p1, k3, rep from *.
Row 5- p1, *p2, yo, ssk, p1, k2-tog, yo, p3; rep from *.
Row 6- k1, *k3, p1, k1, p1, k4; rep from *.

Row 1 (wrong side) and all wrong side rows: k2, p6, k2.
Row 2: p2, k6, p2.
Row 4: p2, sl3 to dpn, k3, knit 3 from dpn, p2.
Row 6: rep row 2.
Row 8: p2, k1, yo, k2tog, k3, p2.
Row 10: p2, ssk, yo, k4, p2.
Row 12: rep row 8.
Row 14, 16, 18: rep rows 2, 4, and 6.
Row 20: p2, k3, ssk, yo, k1, p2.

Six-Rib Knot Cable:

Row 1 (right side): p4, BC, p2, k4, p2, BC, p4.
Row 2 (and all wrong side rows): knit all knit sts, and purl all purl sts.
Row 3: p4, k4, p2, BC, p2, k4, p4.
Row 5: Rep row 1.
Row 7: p2, RC, LC, BC, RC, LC, p2.
Row 9: p2, k2, p4, FC, FC, p4, k2, p2.
Row 11: p2, Tw2R, p4, k2, BC, k2, p4, Tw2R, p2.
Row 13: Rep row 9.
Row 15: p2, LC, RC, BC, LC, RC, p2.

Instructions:

Right Front:

Cast on 68 sts. Work in k1, p1 ribbing for 8 rows. Set patterns as follows: p1, tw-2R, p1, sl 1(to be purled on the wrong side of work), begin with row 2 of Highlight Cable, sl 1, row 1 of openwork bobble pattern (2 repeats), sl 1, row 2 of Highlight Cable, sl 1, (p1, tw2-R, p1, k1)3 times, p1, tw2R, p1. Follow pattern as set. Work even until piece measures 14 1/2 inches. Begin armhole shaping. Bind off 9 sts at armhole edge, then 1 st every other row 9 times. Work even until piece measures 20 1/2 inches. Start neck shaping:
Bind off 13 sts at neck edge.
Dec 1 st at end of next row.
Bind off three sts at beg of next row.
Dec 1 st at end of next row.
Bind off 2 sts at beg of next row.
Dec 1 st at neck edge on each of next four rows. At this time, begin shoulder shaping as well as continuing with neck:
Bind off 6 sts at armhole edge every other row, while decreasing at neck edge every other row 2X and then working neck edge even for four rows.

Left Front:

Work same as Right Front, reversing patterns and shapings.

Back:

Cast on 124 sts. Work in k1, p1, ribbing for 8 rows, increasing 6 sts evenly across last row (130 sts).

Set up pattern as follows:

p1, tw2R, p1, k1)3 times, p1, tw2R, p1, sl1, begin with row 2 of highlight cable, sl1, 2 repeats of openwork bobble pattern ,sl1, Six-Rib Knot Cable, sl1, 2 repeats of Openwork bobble pattern, sl1, row 2 of highlight cable, sl1, (p1, tw2R, p1, k1) 3 times, p1, tw2R, p1.

Following pattern as set, work even until piece measures 14 1/2 inches.

Begin armhole shaping: Bind off 9 sts at beg of next two rows, then 1 st each side every other row 9 times. Work even until piece measures 22 inches.

Shape armholes as follows: Bind off 6 sts at beg of next 12 rows. Bind off remaining sts.

Sleeves (make two): Cast on 40 sts. Work in k1, p1, rib for 19 rows. Inc 24 sts evenly across next row, keeping in rib pattern as follows: k1, M1, rib 1, M1, (rib 2, M1) 5 times. Set up pattern as follows: 8 sts moss st, sl1, row 2 of highlight cable, sl1, six-rib Knot pattern, sl1, row 2 of highlight cable, sl1, 8 sts moss st.

Keeping in set pattern, and adding new sts to edge in moss st pattern, inc 1 st each side every 6 rows 18 times (100 sts). Work even until sleeve measures 17 1/2 inches.
Sleeve cap shaping:
Bind off 8 sts at beg of next 2 rows.
Bind off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows.
(Dec st at each side of next row, work one row even)16 times
Dec 1 st each side of next row.
Bind off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows.
There should be 40 sts left to cast off at the end.

Finishing:

Sew shoulder seams and side seams. Sew sleeve seams. Sew sleeves into armholes.

Neckband:

Pick up 93 sts along neck edge and work in k1, p1 ribbing for 26 rows. Bind off.

Sew zipper by hand onto fronts. Fold neckband in half and sew to inside of neck, and tacking to back side of zipper at front opening, and closing neckband at edges.

Abbreviations:

BC - back cross. Place two sts on dpn and hold in back, k2, then k2 from dpn.
FC - Front cross. Place two sts on dpn and hold in front, k2, then k2 from dpn.
LC - Left Cross. Place two sts on dpn and hold in front, p2, then k2 from dpn.
RC - Right Cross. Place two sts on dpn and hold in back, k2, then p2 from dpn.
Tw2R- twist 2 sts to the right. K2 sts tog then knit first st again before removing sts from needle.
