This round is now paused while the first sleeve is worked. It will be completed later.
Create First Sleeve:
Cable cast on three sts.
Row 1: Seed stitch over 14 sts, work Row 6 of Sleeve Ribbon Stitch, Seed stitch over 11 sts. Turn.
Row 2: Cast on three sts. Seed Stitch over 14, work Row 7 of Sleeve Ribbon Stitch, Seed Stitch over 14. Turn.
Pattern is now set up for sleeve. Work even until sleeve measures 5 inches from underarm cast on, ending with a ws row.
Next row: K2 tog across.
Work 7 rows k1, p1 ribbing.
Picot Bind off: p1, *k1, pass 1st st over. (Insert LH needle into st on right needle and knit it again) 3 times, p1, pass 1st st over, rep from * across. Break yarn, leaving a tail long enough for sewing sleeve seam.
Sew Sleeve seam.
Returning to remaining sts of Round 39, pick up 7 sts from underarm of sleeve. P2, [(p, yo, p) in next st (forming another panel of Seed Stitch), work Round 5 of Skirt Ribbon Stitch] 3 times, (p, yo, p) in next st, p2.

Skirt pattern is now set up in panels of Seed Stitch and Ribbon Stitch. Work in set pattern (commencing with round 7 of Skirt Ribbon Stitch for next round), increasing 1 st each side of every Seed Stitch panel after 9 rounds, then after 11 more rounds, then after 13 more rounds, then after 15 rounds, etc. Continue increasing in the same fashion until skirt measures 17 inches, or length desired.
At this point, begin to replace the Ribbon Stitch panel with Seed stitch, one st at either side of Ribbon panel on every other round. (In other words, work to ribbon panel on next row, and work first st of ribbon panel in seed st, work ribbon panel as set, then work last stitch of ribbon panel in seed st. On following round work sts as set in pattern. On next round, work one more st of ribbon panel in seed st on either side, etc) Continue until two center sts of Ribbon panel are left to be worked in. On next round, replace last two sts with seed stitch with a M1 between them to keep continuity of pattern.
Work 8 rounds of Seed Stitch all the way around. Bind off.
Sew buttons to back button band. No buttonholes are needed as the small buttons should easily slip between the sts of the buttonhole band.

Cast on 70 sts.
Row 1: K2, (bind off 3 sts, k4) across, ending last repeat k2. (There should be 4 sts between each space on needle, with 2 sts at each end.)
