Hooded Fisherman Rib Scarf

Skill Level: Easy

Materials: Lion Brand Jiffy Yarn – model knitted with color Camel Spray (4 skeins); size 10 ½ knitting needles (U.S.); cable needle

Gauge: 3 sts/inch in Fisherman Rib Pattern

Size: 8 ½ inches X 75 inches

Abbreviations:

Sl 1 wyib – slip next st purlwise with yarn at back of work

Sl 1 wyif – slip next st purlwise with yarn at front of work

K1B  – knit next st 1 row below, then slip sts from both rows off left hand needle together.

Directions:

Cast on 31 sts.

Row1 :  (sl 1 wyib, k1) 3 times, sl 1, k 17, (sl 1 wyib, k1) 3 times, sl 1.

Row 2: (p1, sl 1 wyif) 3 times, p1, k1B, (k1, k1B) 8 times, (p1, sl 1 wyif) 3 times, p1.

Row 3: (sl 1 wyib, k1) 3 times, sl 1, k 1, (k1B, k1) 8 times, (sl 1 wyib, k1) 3 times, sl 1.

Row 4: repeat row 2.

Row 5: k1, sl 3 sts to cable needle and hold in back, k3, then k3 from cable needle, k1, (k1B, k1) 8 times, sl 3 sts to cable needle and hold in back, k3, then k3 from cable needle, k1.

Row 6: p7, k1B, (k1, k1B) 8 times, p7.

Row 7: repeat row 3.

Row 8: repeat row 2.

Row 9: repeat row 3.

Row 10: repeat row 2.

Row 11: repeat row 3.

Row 12: repeat row 2.

Repeat rows 3-12 for pattern until desired length, ending with row 8. Bind off VERY LOOSELY in pattern.

For hood, fold scarf in half, and sew one edge, starting at folded edge, together for approximately 10 inches.
